Review

Behie Khalighi, Ferdod Haghighi & Dr. F. Haghighi
The
following Carpet and Textile books are categorized by the authors in alpha
alphabetical order. Although we have all read most of these books in most
cases one of us has quoted what he or she thought of the book. If you
would like to know where to get any of the following books it would be
our pleasure to help. Although some of these books are out of print and
are more difficult to come upon.
Carpets
In The Baluch Tradition. Azadi, 1986
"Great book
for Baluchi collector's." I meet Mr. Azadi at the ACOR 6 exhibition
and he was one of the warmest people I have meet. A pleasurable
person to speak with. Ferdod

The Collectors Eye. Bailey & Hopkins, 1991
"A good
general rug book for the collector." Ferdod
Islamic
Textiles. Baker & Patricia, 1985
"The text
was not as good as the pictures. However some wonderful rare textiles."
Dr.

to cover the vast majority of weavings." Behie
Baluch
Woven Treasures. Boucher , 1989
"Excellent
Baluch reference. One that I would highly recommend for the serious Baluch
collector. Jeff Boucher in an authority on this subject. Great examples
of true Baluch collectables. I also like his philosophy towards
the attribution of different Baluch clans and other similar weaving ethnic
groups. Was able to see some of the illustrated pieces in this book now
in the Indianapolis Museum and I was in Baluch heaven. Ferdod
Tent
Band-Tent Bag, Classic Turkmen Weaving. Cassin & Hoffmeister,
1988
"Nice visual
pictures, some good reading." Ferdod
Baluch
Prayer Rugs. Craycraft & Halley, 1983

with! When it comes to Baluchi I can think of no better person than to
ask for advice. Ferdod
An
Introduction to Kurdish Rugs and other Weavings. Eagleton, 1988
"One of
the more recommended books on Kurdish rugs. However we are still
in need of better research in this very in-depth a complex field. As

book" Dr. Haghighi

a wide verity of rugs and some textiles that you would commonly find in
a reputable rug gallery." It could help consumers be better
buyers." Ferdod
